If you haven’t been to a Second Saturday event then you are seriously missing out! Every second Saturday of the month, Highland Village in Jackson, MS, hosts a family-friendly-fun afternoon in their beautiful courtyard. In February it was jazz & king cake for Mardi Gras, March brought white rabbits & the queen of hearts for a “mad” Easter, and April was sponsored by Apèrol Spritz… so free spritzers all around! Keep scrollin’ for a look at Highland Village’s Second Saturday sponsored by Apèrol…
Local stylist Rachel B. Williams got a few of us girls together, styled us all in orange + handed each of us a parasol, & we danced the afternoon away.

What is an Apèrol Spritz, you ask? Well full disclosure, I had to look it up after finding out they were sponsoring the event. Per trusty Wikipedia, “Apèrol is an Italian bitter apéritif made of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, among other ingredients. It has a vibrant orange hue. Its name comes from the French slang word for aperitif, which is apero.” So the Apèrol Spritz is one-third Apèrol + two-thirds sparkling wine + topped with club soda + orange slice garnish. I can get on board with that.

One of my favorite lunch spots, Aplós, set up a beverage cart in the courtyard with complimentary spritzers & swag (like that straw boater!)

Highland Village, you nailed it. We can’t wait to see what next month’s Second Saturday brings! Hope to see you there!

Thanks
